Launceston's Clifton Fine Furniture and Britton Timbers have an association going back many decades, but the products coming out of their collaborations are young, fresh and contemporary. A stunning, two-metre audio unit crafted from Tasmanian Myrtle, is the latest example.

Don Pears from Clifton Furniture says that there is always an appetite for the marriage of great design and beautiful, solid, Tasmanian timber.

"The Tasmanian Myrtle from Britton Timbers has that fantastic pink hue and distinctive grain that customers are always looking for. The audio unit in myrtle was a special order from Nature’s Secret in Bridge Road Richmond. The unit itself was our popular standard design, but using myrtle has given it a whole new look."

Shawn Britton says demand for Tasmanian Myrtle has always been strong, and Britton’s ensures it has enough stock on hand to cater for customer’s needs — particularly high-grade myrtle for fine furniture manufacture.

“Britton Timber’s Tasmanian Myrtle is available from our Tasmanian mill, and of course our distribution centres in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. It’s a timber that has universal appeal and we can’t see that diminishing any time soon.”
